Of all the ideas that have flashed through my head since ECG started the power rationing exercise, this one - to create a blog page - has stuck in my craw and I really must get it out!
Consider this an my X'mas Gift to you lucky buggers out there.
So this is a junction where there is always power for you to pass through, drop in your ideas on how to handle this lights off and on period, leave a joke or a limmerick, a poem if you are so inclined or a short story. Or just chip in anything you want to pass on.

New Favorite Hang-outs
A few nice suprises are up and running. New to me anyway:
The England Restaurant : Real English Food+Ghanaian Hospitality
On Freetown Avenue in East Legon. Happened on the opening ceremony on 11the Oct 2007 and had a nice time. Ambiance is relaxed, food is definitely English and the services promises to be excellent.

Soul Food : Barbeque and Buffet
On Freetown Avenue in East Legon, opposite Abedi Pele's house. Set to open by the first week in November 2007. Met the owner working late into the night to finish up the place and he is ready to WOW the town with home cooked food, served in a classy environment. Pure Ghanaian fare at affordable prices. Large restuarant space upstairs and down stairs open air seating.
Guess where he got the name of the restaurant from. Yes, Ghanaian life will be imitating Hollywood art.

Favorite Beach Resort
I was blown AWAY! Yes I was.
White Sands in Gomoa Fetteh is in a class if its own. The setting is idyllic, the grounds are edenic, the decor is on-point and the service is worth the following prevailing rates:
- membership for (family) $1200/yr
- membership for single $750/yr
- one night stay in their beach hotel - 900 Euros
- one night stay in one of the beach houses - 1800 Euros
- one night stay in the ultimate beach house - 2400Euros
Obviously not for the average Joe, but the food was scrumptious!!
For all the jaded travellers and lovers out there, if you dont fall in love again at White Sands, I suggest its time to call

The Allure Spa in the City opened this weekend and it is a real haven in the city. And it is male and kids friendly too. After Labone Junction right opposite the Veterinary Services.

For those of you who still hold ECG in high esteem, let me prick the bubble a wee bit, somewhere in September a lot of the 3 phase equipments in and around East Legon blew up. Well, let's say ECG guys swapped the phases after a major job on the underground cables there. A & C mall and a few others got it real bad. When can the consumers in Ghana sue them. Anyways, I'm still trying to understand the power rationing schedule, can somebody help me out?
